Martha Lloyd

Martha Lloyd  81, of Calhoun, Kentucky passed peacefully from this life on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital.  Martha Ellen Hibdon was born July 30, 1935 in McLean County, Kentucky to the late James Robert and Cordelia Ellen Ridenour Hibdon and was married to Donald Augusta Lloyd December 15, 1951.  Martha was a faithful member of Pleasant Hope General Baptist Church, where she served as both the church and cemetery sexton for many years.  Her greatest joy was teaching children in Sunday School.  Many of these children, now adults with children or grandchildren of their own, still lovingly speak of “Miss Martha.”  In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in death by three brothers, William, Charles and Robert Hibdon and by a sister, Anna Jean Tanner Greene.

          Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Donald A. Lloyd; a son, D. Scott Lloyd of Owensboro; a sister, Ruby Fulkerson Whitaker; numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews.

          Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel with the Revs. Ron Hampton, Tracy Burnett and Danny Hibdon officiating.  Burial will be in the Pleasant Hope Cemetery in McLean County.  Friends may visit with Martha’s family from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Friday and from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Saturday at Musters in Calhoun.
