Lyndal Smith 78, of Sacramento, Kentucky went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 24, 2017 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville. Boyd Lyndal Smith was born June 20, 1938 in McLean County, Kentucky to the late Rignald and Gracie Evelyn Markwell Smith and was married to the former Ethel Marie West August 18, 1961. Lyndal retired from Muhlenberg County Water District #3 in Bremen, was a member of Station Baptist Church and attended Sacramento Baptist Church. He served in the Kentucky Army National Guard and was a member of Bremen Lodge # 596 F. & A.M., a member of the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels, and enjoyed using his mechanical and creative skills to build numerous self-designed projects, including a working Farris wheel and mechanical swings for four people. In addition to his parents, Lyndal was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Smith and a sister, Donna Joyce Smith.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Ethel Smith; a daughter, Valerie Smith of Bremen; two sons and their wives, Dennis and Mary Smith and Philip and Teresa Smith both of Bremen; two grandchildren, Amber Smith and Austin Smith; three brothers and their wives, Bobby and Hazel Smith of Russellville, Donny and Helen Smith of Graham, and Barry and Rita Smith of Madisonville; and four sisters, Marilyn Fulkerson of Madisonville, Betty Dyar of Bremen, Lois Jones and husband, Bill, and Sue Capps and husband, Tony both of Sacramento.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday at Sacramento Baptist Church with the Rev. Wendell Wood officiating. Burial will be in the Station Baptist Cemetery in McLean County. Friends may visit with Lyndal’s family from 3:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Sunday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel and from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Monday at Sacramento Baptist Church.
