Katherine (Hancock) Johnson

Katherine Johnson 93, of Calhoun, Kentucky died Tuesday, April 6, 2016 at Riverside Manor Health Care Center in Calhoun.  Nancy Katherine Hancock was born April 14, 1922 in McLean County, Kentucky to the late Bodo and Maggie Pinkston Hancock and married Wilford Leland Johnson on July 9, 1969. Katherine was a 1942 Graduate of Calhoun High School, retired from G.E. in Owensboro, and was a member of Calhoun Baptist Church.  She loved working with flowers, wild birds, and caring for her pets.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Wilford Johnson on June 23, 2010; two brothers: Robert Hancock and Tony Hancock; and two sisters: Lena Abney and Eula Jeffries.

          Survivors include several nieces and nephews.

          Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel with Rev. David Fortner officiating.  Burial will be in the Calhoun Cemetery in McLean County.  Friends may visit with Katherine’s family from 10:00 A.M. until time of service Friday at Musters in Calhoun.

          The Katherine Johnson family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the McLean County Animal Shelter; 1508 Kentucky 136 East; Calhoun, KY 42327.  Memorial contribution envelopes will be available at Musters in Calhoun.
