Karen Tunget Davis

Karen Tunget Davis  57, of Sacramento, Kentucky went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at her home in Sacramento.  Karen Sue Tunget was born March 29, 1960 in Owensboro, Kentucky to the late Edward Lee and Kathryn Graham Miller Tunget and was married to Jimmie Wayne Davis May 9, 1981.  Karen earlier worked at the McLean County PVA Office for 24 years, was a member of Covenant Community Church in Madisonville and was an avid University of Kentucky fan.  She was co-founder of the Benefit Fund of McLean County, was a member of the 1975 / 1976 McLean County High School Girl’s Basketball Team, which was inducted into the inaugural class of the McLean County Athletic Hall of Fame this past September, and also coached many basketball and softball teams.  In addition to her parents, Karen was preceded in death by her husband of 24 years, Jimmie Davis, who died October 31, 2005.

          Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Hannah and J.D. Goins of Sacramento; a grandson, Levi Goins; a brother and his wife, Gary and Mary Lisa Tunget of Owensboro; two sisters and their husbands, Janice and Roger Rice of Benton and Cheryl and Bob Purdy of Owensboro; her step mother, Edna Tunget of Owensboro; her mother-in-law, Vida Davis of Millport; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

          Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel with the Rev. Kevin Brantley officiating.  Private burial will be at a later date in Owensboro Memorial Gardens.  Friends may visit with Karen’s family from 10:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. Saturday at Musters in Calhoun.
