Jim Kinney  75, of Calhoun, Kentucky died Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at his home in Calhoun.  James Douglas Kinney was born February 1, 1940 in Calhoun, Kentucky to the late Percy Landrum and Myrtle Elizabeth Kennedy Kinney and was married to the former Bonnie Ann Lange.  Jim was a U.S. Navy Vietnam Veteran, retired from the Navy as a Chief Boiler Technician after 20 years of service, and later retired from Western Kentucky Gas.  He attended Oak Grove United Methodist Church, was a member of the McLean County Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Post #5415, where he was active in the Honor Guard Unit, was a member of the Fleet Reserve Association, and the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels.  Jim was an avid golfer, and also enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, and cookouts with his family.  In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by a brother, Marian Garfield Kinney.

          Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Kinney; a son and his wife, Michael and Tracy Kinney of Calhoun; a daughter and her husband, Lenaye and Terry Richards of Owensboro; seven grandchildren, Craig Hardesty, Chelsia Hughes, Courtney Hardesty, Branden Kinney, Alyssa Kinney, Chris Richards, and Tuesdee Richards; 4 great grandchildren; and a sister, Linda Stovall of Calhoun.

          Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel with the Rev. Keith Page officiating.  Burial will be in the Calhoun Cemetery in McLean County with Military Honors conducted by the McLean County Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Post #5415.  Friends may visit with Jim’s family from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Sunday and from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Monday at Musters in Calhoun.

          The Jim Kinney family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the McLean County Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Post #5415, Honor Guard Unit; C/O Robert Thomasson; 892 Browns Valley Road; Utica, Kentucky  42376.  Memorial contribution envelopes will be available at Musters in Calhoun.
