Jeanne Gish Gatton

Jeanne Gish Gatton  92, of Rumsey, Kentucky died Friday, February 12, 2016 at the Charlier Hospice Center in Evansville.  Dorothy Jeanne Gish was born March 31, 1923 in Bremen, Kentucky to the late Irvin and Selma Robertson Gish and was married to Harry William Gatton, Jr.  Jeanne was a Graduate of Bremen High School and Bowling Green Business College.  She was a Fellow of the Scovell Society at the University of Kentucky, served on the RiverPark Board of Directors, and was a member of Calhoun Baptist Church.  In addition to her parents, Jeanne was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Harry W. Gatton, Jr., who died December 13, 1999 and by a brother, James T. Gish.

          Survivors include a sister, Virginia Gish Smith of Memphis; a brother-in-law, C.M. “Bill” Gatton and wife, Leigh of Kingsport, Tennessee; three nieces, Vicki McCullough and husband, Jim of Memphis; Charlotte Cobun of Morgantown, West Virginia, and Chase Gatton of Kingsport and two nephews, Carroll Smith and wife, Molly of Houston, Texas and Charles Gatton, Jr. and wife, Lori of Bremen.

          Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday at Calhoun Baptist Church with the Rev. Franklin Skaggs officiating.  Entombment will be in the Gatton Mausoleum in Calhoun Cemetery.  Friends may visit with Jeanne’s family from 1:00 P.M. 2:00 P.M. Monday at the church.  Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel is handling the arrangements for Jeanne’s family.

          The Jeanne Gish Gatton family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Calhoun Baptist Church, Building Fund; P.O. Box 283; Calhoun, Kentucky  42327.  Memorial contribution envelopes will be available at the church.
