Ivan E. Decker 92, of 9625 Kentucky 144; Philpot, Kentucky died Thursday, January 15, 2015 at Hillcrest Healthcare Center in Owensboro. Ivan Eli Decker was born June 30, 1922 in Grayson County, Kentucky. Ivan was a retired construction worker and a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and enjoyed playing the fiddle.
Survivors include a daughter, Sue Austin and her husband, Roger of Calhoun; two grandchildren, Jeff Austin and wife, Robin of Owensboro and Camille VanAntwerp and husband, Bill of Manassas, Virginia; 4 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; his companion of 26 years, Emma Rightmyer; Emma’s children, Susan Edwards and husband, Michael; John Rightmyer, and Byron Rightmyer; Emma’s 7 grandchildren; and her 5 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel with Dr. Richard Sams officiating. Burial will be in the Poplar Grove Cemetery in McLean County with Military Honors conducted by the McLean County Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Post #5415. Friends may visit with Ivan’s family from 3:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Sunday and from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Monday at Musters in Calhoun.
