Henry T. “Penny” Son 87, of Owensboro, Kentucky went home to be with the Lord on Friday, April 6 under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky.  Henry Thomas Son was born August 29, 1930 in McLean County, Kentucky to the late Thomas Lloyd and Edith Mae Johnson Son and married the former Carolyn Lou Dorris.  He was an Airforce Veteran of the Korean War, and enjoyed the Dallas Cowboys, the Kentucky Wildcats, and the St. Louis Cardinals.  Penny retired as a foreman in road construction for Green Construction Company, and was a member of Poplar Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Church and a member of the Sacramento Lodge #735 F. & A.M..  In addition to his parents, Penny was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Carolyn Son on October 21, 2017; and two brothers, Ray W. Son, and Coy L. Son.

          Survivors include two sons: Mike Son and Mark Son and his wife Dale Ann, all of Vincennes, IN; a daughter, Becky Son of Owensboro; Six grandchildren, Mandi Son, Michael Son, Matthew Son, Jennifer Spann, Philip Chanley, Jr. , and Abbe Steffey: 14 great grandchildren; a sister, Joan Rudd of St. Clair, MO; and two sisters-in-law; Geneva Son of Bethel OH, and Ada Son of Madisonville.

          Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel with the Rev. Tony Boyken officiating.  Burial will be in the Poplar Grove Cemetery in McLean County.  Friends may visit with Penny’s family from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Monday and from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at Musters in Calhoun.

          The Henry Thomas “Penny” Son family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to The Heartford House; 2914 Old Hartford Road; Owensboro, KY 42303  Memorial contribution envelopes will be available at Musters in Calhoun.
