Glenard “G.A.” Leet 84, of Panther, Kentucky passed away Friday, November 20, 2015 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. Glenard Alvey Leet was born December 15, 1930 in Daviess County, Kentucky to the late Aaron Lytle and Clyde Vera Vanover Leet, was married to the former Mattie Lou Payton on April 6, 1951 and was also known as “G.A.” to both his family and friends. Glenard was a lifelong dairy farmer, a U.S. Army Veteran, and a devout Christian. He was a member of Glenville Baptist Church and a former member of Brushy Fork Baptist Church. Glenard served his church in many areas, including being a Deacon, Sunday School teacher for 57 years, and a song leader. He was a Gideon, a member of Monsarrat Lodge # 379 F. & A.M., a Snyder School baseball coach, and was the scales operator with Hook'em Up Pulling. Glenard loved spending time with his family, hearing their laughter, and also enjoyed bowling, U.K. Basketball, singing, square dancing, and his Labor Day cookout with his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Mattie Lou Leet; 2 sons, Glenn Leet (Brenda) and Tim Leet both of Panther; three daughters, Sharon Barnett (Buck) of Panther, Lauran Gossett (Les) of Owensboro, and Traci Ayer (Jonathan) of Calhoun; ten grandchildren, Aaron Barnett, Sunny Canary (Michael), Chuck Barnett (Lacey), Kevin Leet (Michelle McGuire), Jeremie Leet (Jenny), Kyle Leet (Megan), Evan Gossett (Meghan), Kendra Peace (Doug), Trenton Ayer, and Kirstin Ayer; eleven great grandchildren, Austin Barnett, Aden Barnett, Luke Canary, Dylan Canary, Diesel Barnett, Emma Leet, Abby McGuire, Madelyn Leet, Graham Gossett, Claire Gossett, and Chloe Peace; his brother, Norbert Leet of Panther; and a former granddaughter-in-law, Kara Barnett.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday at Glenville Baptist Church with the Revs. Charles Thomas and Eddie Duke officiating. Burial will be in the Brushy Fork Baptist Cemetery in Daviess County. Friends may visit with Glenard’s family from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Sunday and from 8:00 A.M. until 10:15 A.M. Monday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel. Masonic services for Glenard will be held at 5:00 P.M. Sunday at Musters in Calhoun.
