Gertrude Mackey

Gertrude Mackey  92, of Owensboro, Kentucky died Friday, July 3, 2015 at the Carmel Home in Owensboro.  Mary Gertrude Weise was born December 21, 1922 in Daviess County to the late Walter and Virgie Hodgkins Weise and was married to Flaudice Allen Mackey on December 28, 1943.  She was a homemaker, earlier worked at the Former Charles Chips Plant in Calhoun, and was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church.  In addition to her parents, Gertrude was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Flaudice A. Mackey, who died February 4, 2009; a brother, Tony Weise; and a sister, Marie Wathen.

          Survivors include a sister, Helen Greenwell of Owensboro; a brother, Louis Weise of Owensboro; several nieces and nephews.

          Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel with the Rev. John Ighacho officiating.  Burial will be in the Calhoun Cemetery in McLean County.  Friends may visit with Gertrude’s family from 11:30 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. Sunday at Musters in Calhoun.

          The Gertrude Mackey family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Carmel Home; 2501 Old Hartford Road; Owensboro, Kentucky  42303.  Memorial contribution envelopes will be available at Musters in Calhoun.
