Garry L. McElwain

Garry L. McElwain  76, of Calhoun, Kentucky went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 4, 2017 at Riverside Care and Rehabilitation Center in Calhoun.  Garry Lynn McElwain was born January 7, 1941 in McLean County, Kentucky to the late Rufus and Ilene Jennings McElwain and was married to the former Anna Mae Dunn December 26, 1959.  He was a retired farmer and a member of Pleasant Hope General Baptist Church, where he always wanted to arrive early for Sunday School.  Garry was a U.S. Army Veteran and an avid University of Kentucky Basketball fan.

          Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Anna Mae McElwain; two sons, John McElwain of Greenwood, Indiana and Lonnie McElwain and wife, Danielle of Lexington, South Carolina; six grandchildren, Sierra McElwain, Tori McElwain, Trent McElwain, Ethan McElwain, Spencer McElwain, and Preston McElwain; a great granddaughter, Rowan Peay; and a brother, Alden McElwain of Calhoun.

          Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel with the Revs. Tracy Burnett and Ron Hampton officiating.  Friends may visit with Garry’s family from 3:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Tuesday and from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. Wednesday at Musters in Calhoun.
