Elizabeth "Betty" Barber

Elizabeth “Betty” Barber  74, of 271 Latham Lane; Island, Kentucky, died Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at Riverside Manor Health Care Center in Calhoun.  Elizabeth Lucille Jones was born March 22, 1940 in Cloverport, Kentucky to the late William Raymond and Bertha Mae Clark Jones, was married to Ernest Ray “Dick” Barber on July 9, 1976, and was better known as “Betty” to both her family and friends.  Betty was a retired teacher from the McLean County School System and a member of Covenant Community Church in Madisonville.  She enjoyed teaching, gardening, fishing, and caring for her flowers.  In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Misty Clary; and by two grandsons, Matthew Baldwin and Nathan Case.

          Survivors include her husband of 38 years, Dick Barber; five daughters and their husbands, Peggy and Ralph Willis of Utica, Lora and Larry Henderson of Atlanta, Beth Bullock of Island, Angie and Richie Baldwin, and Stacey and Bryan Fazenbaker both of Madisonville; 15 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; a brother, Lester Jones of North Carolina; and a sister, Willena Sutton of Sacramento.

          Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at Muster Funeral Homes, Livermore Chapel with Pastor Michael Knight officiating.  Burial will be in the Island Community Cemetery in McLean County.  Friends may visit with Betty’s family from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Friday and from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Saturday at Musters in Livermore.
