Edward L. Coin 94, of Island, Kentucky died Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at his home in Island. Edward Lee Coin was born February 24, 1922 in McLean County, Kentucky to the late James Doss and Alice Griffith Coin and was married to the former Ima Pearl Paris on February 8, 1946. He was a retired farmer and member of Richland Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, the last surviving member of Company K from the Livermore National Guard which served in the South Pacific, and a member of McLean County Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Post #5415.
Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Pearl Coin; a son, David Coin and wife, Brenda of Greenville; two daughters, Lois Crumbaker and husband, Bernie and Kay Crowe and husband, David both of Island; 8 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and 5 great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at Muster Funeral Homes, Livermore Chapel. Burial will be in the Richland Baptist Cemetery in McLean County with Military Honors conducted by the McLean County Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Post #5415. Friends may visit with Edward’s family from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Friday and from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Saturday at Musters in Livermore.
The family would like to express their appreciation for the professional and personal care given by Dr. Wilhite and his staff and the staff of Baptist Health Hospice.
