Denise Hayden McElwain

Denise Hayden McElwain  60, of Calhoun, Kentucky died Sunday, June 14, 2015 at her home in Calhoun.  Mallie Denise Hayden was born November 23, 1954 in Madisonville, Kentucky to Ray Mitchell and Elna May Thomas Hayden and was married to Norman Gerald McElwain on August 31, 1979.  Denise was a homemaker, a retired beautician, and member of Calhoun Baptist Church.  She enjoyed cooking, working outdoors, gardening, and going to town.  Denise was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Gerald McElwain, who died February 15, 2012.

          Survivors include a son, Shannon Hill of Calhoun; a daughter, Nashau McElwain of Calhoun; five grandchildren, Darian Hill, Evie Hill, Lillie Hill, Quinten Hill, and Addi McElwain; a grandson on the way, Cooper Mitchell Durham; her parents, Ray and Elna Hayden of Calhoun; and a brother, Gerry Hayden and wife, Judy of Calhoun.

          Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel with Dr. Richard Sams officiating.  Burial will be in the Calhoun Cemetery in McLean County.  Friends may visit with Denise’s family from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Tuesday and from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at Musters in Calhoun.
