Bill Calvert

Bill Calvert  88, of Island, Kentucky went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital.  William Issac Calvert was born July 16, 1929 in McLean County, Kentucky to the late Theophilus and Edith Calvert and was married to the former Marjorie Elizabeth Martin January 17, 1950.  Bill was a farmer and member of Island Baptist Church.  He enjoyed telling old stories and chewing his tobacco.  In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Betty Calvert, who died June 19, 2002 and by his son, Joe Calvert, who died October 3, 2017.

          Survivors include two daughters, Sharon Young and husband, Tom of Danville and Sue Dickinson of Greenville; 4 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and a brother-in-law, Roy Martin of Island.

          Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at Muster Funeral Homes, Livermore Chapel with the Rev. Jim Nelson officiating.  Burial will be in the Island Baptist Cemetery in McLean County.  Friends may visit with Bill’s family from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Monday and from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at Musters in Livermore.
