Andy Martinez

Andy Martinez 69,  went home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 18, 2017 at his home in Livermore, Kentucky after a 15 year struggle with Parkinson’s Disease.  Claude Andrew Martinez was born September 27, 1947 in Oxnard, CA to the late John Ponce and Alberta Ortega Sanchez Martinez.  Andy met his wife, Patricia Alma Shultz Dye while driving a river taxi on the Colorado River between Bullhead City, AZ and Laughlin, NV.  He had fond memories of working in the casino industry for 20 years in Laughlin and later operated poultry houses with Patricia.  Andy never met a stranger and was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church in Livermore.  In addition to his parents, Andy was preceded in death by his parents-in-law, Joe and Anna Pearl Ridenour Shultz, and in-laws, JoAnna Cook, Linda and Leo Evans, and Doris Shultz.

          Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Patricia; two sons, John Lewis Martinez of Las Vegas, NV and James “J.P.” (Dannielle) Dye of Thornton, CO; two grandchildren, Jace Patrick and Brynnlee Rose Dye; in-laws, Jerry Shultz of Beaver Dam, David (Amy) Shultz of Centertown, Brenda (Rob) Dickey of Providence, UT, and Brad (Annetta) Cook of Fair Acres, NM; several nieces and nephews.

          A memorial mass will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, August 26, 2017 at St. Charles Catholic Church in Livermore with Rev. John Ighacho officiating.  Join the family in a time of fellowship and remembrance of Andy’s life from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Friday in the parrish hall with a prayer service at 6:30 P.M. at St. Charles.  Muster Funeral Homes, Livermore Chapel is handling the arrangements for Andy’s family.

          The Andy Martinez family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to St. Charles Catholic Church; 506 Hill Street; Livermore, KY 42352.  Memorial contribution envelopes will be available at the church.
