Kenny Underwood

Kenny Underwood 68, of the Buck Creek Community in McLean County, Kentucky passed away Thursday, April 4, 2024 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital.  Kenneth Leslie Underwood was born August 1, 1955 in Owensboro, Kentucky to the late Garnett and Norma Lee Ridenour Underwood and was married to the former Deerita Hoover on February 12, 1982. 

          Kenny Underwood, a cherished lifelong farmer whose hands nurtured the earth as he raised tobacco, chickens, and cattle, passed away surrounded by the love of his family. His dedication to the land was matched only by his commitment to his faith as a  member of Buck Creek Baptist Church.
          Kenny found joy in the simple pleasures of life, often seen with a fishing pole in hand or admiring the craftsmanship at antique tractor shows. His playful spirit shone brightest when he was lovingly aggravating his wife, with whom he shared what seemed like a century together.
          His legacy is one of hard work, devotion to his community, and the warmth of his laughter that could light up a room. Kenny Underwood's memory will be treasured by all who had the pleasure of knowing him, and his stories will echo through the fields he so fondly cared for.

          Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Deerita; three sons: Justin Underwood of Livermore, Nate (Jackie) Underwood of Buck Creek, Joey Hayden of Dundee; six grandchildren: Maddie, Jessa, Jasper, Bridgett, Ely, Gavin; two brothers, Chris (Joyce) Underwood of Livia, Steve (Shannon) Underwood of Buck Creek; brother-in-law, Robert (Linda) Hoover of Owensboro; several nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews.

          Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, April 8, 2024 at Muster Funeral Homes, Livermore Chapel with Rev. Tommy Webb officiating.  Burial will be in the Underwood Family Cemetery in McLean County.  Friends may visit with Kenny’s family from 1:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. Sunday and 9:00 A.M. till services Monday at Musters in Livermore.
