Jerry H. Collings

Jerry H. Collings  80, of Beech Grove, Kentucky went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at his home in Beech Grove.  Jerry Harlen Collings was born November 1, 1936 in Beech Grove, Kentucky to the late Melvin Harlen and Evelyn Lindsey Collings and was married to the former Wanda Ray Dugger on October 20, 1962.  Jerry was a third generation well driller, owner and operator of Collings Drilling Service, a member of the Methodist Faith, and a U.S. Army Veteran.  He was a member of Vienna Lodge # 423 F. & A.M., an avid University of Kentucky fan, a member of Western Kentucky Mini-Tractor Pulling Association, and a member of Kentucky Water Well Drillers Association.  In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his daughter, Laura Allyson Collings Edwards, who died December 14, 1997.

          Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Wanda Collings.

          Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel with the Rev. Ron Hampton officiating.  Burial will be in the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Madisonville.  Friends may visit with Jerry’s family from 2:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. Sunday and from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Monday at Musters in Calhoun.

          The Jerry H. Collings family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Beech Grove Volunteer Fire Department; P.O. Box 65; Beech Grove, Kentucky  42322.  Memorial contribution envelopes will be available at Musters in Calhoun.
