G. B. Hughes

G. B. Hughes  71, of Willow Spring, North Carolina went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at his home in Willow Spring.  Glendol Bailey Hughes was born March 22, 1946 in Louisville, Kentucky to Glendol Edward and Janet Iris Bailey Hughes, was married to the former Deborah Kay Grider on August 19, 2003, and was better known as “G. B.” to his family and friends.  G.B. retired from Aramark Vending and was a U.S. Army Veteran.  He was preceded in death by his father, G.E. Hughes.    Survivors include his wife, Debbie Hughes; two daughters, Lynn Braden of Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina and Gwendolyn Lindsey of Cincinnati; four grandchildren, Bailey, Mya, Delilah, and Harmony; a great grandson, Leighton; his mother, Janet Hughes of Island; a brother, Mike Hughes of Calhoun; two sisters, Vickie Howell of Island and Tracy Pannell of Bowling Green; and his faithful furry companion, Izzy.

          Family graveside services will be Monday at Island Community Cemetery with the Rev. Chad Rafferty officiating and Military Honors conducted by the McLean County Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Post 5415.  There will be no public visitation.  Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel is handling the arrangements for G.B.’s family.

          The G.B. Hughes family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Island Community Cemetery Fund; C/O Susan Edmonds; 125 East Broadway; Island, Kentucky  42350.  Memorial contribution envelopes will be available at Musters in Calhoun.
